Veteran boss Ling-Yao Hong has led the national team since 1990.
The 54-year-old has coached at three FIBA World Championships and six FIBA Asia Championships. In the Asia Championships, she steered her country to bronze medals in 1999 and 2005. Hong has also coached at four Asian Games, leading her team to silver in 2006 and bronze in both 1990 and 2002). On the club front, she serves at the head coach of Cathay Life, a team she has guided to the last 16 WSBL titles. Her assistants are Ling Wang and Pi-Yun Teng.
