Career: Wesley Chapel High School (USA), Clemson University (USA-NCAA, 2007-08)

Sthefany is the daughter of American Jimmy Thomas, who reached the 1975 NCAA Final Four as a player at Arizona State and played professionally in Argentina and Chile in the 1980s and 90s. Sthefany spent the past two summers with Argentina’s national team program and competed at the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship in Slovakia where she finished tied for the second-best scoring average in the tournament at 19.4 points while also pulling down 8.2 rebounds per game. Now Thomas, who some believe is already the best technical player in the selection, is hoping to prove she can have a major impact on the senior team by helping them claim one of five spots on offer for Beijing via the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Madrid.
