Cheng has been the starting center for many years. She had a severe knee injury in 2006 that limited her effectiveness at the Asian Games (3.3 pts and 4.5 rbs) and prevented her from taking part in the FIBA World Championship in Brazil. In her absence, new players emerged on the interior. As a consequence, her role has changed in National Team. Last year, she averaged 17 minutes a game at the FIBA Asia Championship. Her presence on the boards and her experience are still valuable for Chinese Taipei.
